The news of Monalisa’s death was confirmed by Seun Oloketuyi, CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON), who shared the heartbreaking update on Instagram. According to him, Monalisa passed away on Tuesday, May 13, in Lagos, following a battle with low blood sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister reportedly confirmed the news to him.

Reacting to the shocking loss, Bimpe Akintunde shared a tearful tribute on her social media page. In her post, she questioned why Monalisa didn’t reach out to her or others during her time of struggle, especially given their frequent communication.

“Monaaaaaa, you for at least call or message me when you were going through all of that naaaa. Haaaaaa, this one hit me hard. Sebi we used to talk often?” Bimpe wrote.
“I pray your sweet soul finds eternal rest, my dear sister. My condolences to @iamolasamuel and the entire family. May we never witness such again by God’s grace. Goodnight, Monalisa Stephen.”
