Family Raises Alarm Over Missing 26-Year-Old Banker in Lagos

  • Osemudiamen Idemudia, a 26-year-old banker, has mysteriously disappeared while returning home from work.
  • Julius Idemudia, the father of Osemudiamen, reported that his son was last seen on Friday, May 9, according to a statement from Punch Metro.

The family of 26-year-old Osemudiamen Idemudia, a banker based in Lagos, is in distress over his unexplained disappearance on Friday, May 9, while returning home from work.

Speaking with Punch Metro, Osemudiamen’s father, Julius Idemudia, explained that his son, who worked in the Point-of-Sale (POS) unit of a bank, had gone to the bank’s CMS headquarters on Lagos Island for an appointment with a senior staff member after closing from his office in Ikota.

According to Julius, Osemudiamen made the trip with a colleague, but upon arrival at CMS, they were informed that the meeting had been postponed until Monday. Afterward, the two men went their separate ways, and that was the last time anyone saw or heard from Osemudiamen.

“When they eventually got to CMS, they parted ways. As usual, Osemudiamen was expected to board a bus to Iyana Ipaja, and from there, take another bus to Igando. But when it started getting late and we hadn’t heard from him, we became worried. After 24 hours of no contact, we raised the alarm. Since then, we haven’t heard from him. Our hearts are heavy with worry. This is so unlike him, and we are deeply concerned for his safety and well-being.”

Julius added that the disappearance is completely out of character for his son, further deepening the family’s concern for his safety.

“We have reported the case of a missing person at the Igando Police Station and efforts are ongoing to meet with the Chief Security Officer of the bank for further probe on his disappearance.”

Efforts to locate Osemudiamen are ongoing as his loved ones continue to appeal to the public for any useful information that could help find him.
