Lady Questions JAMB Result After Brother Scores 169 Despite Academic Excellence

- A lady reported that her brother’s UTME result, which showed a score of 169 in aggregates, has been rejected by his family.
- A lady on X suggested her brother was too intelligent to achieve 169 in UTME.
- The Lady stated that her brother has consistently demonstrated academic excellence in her post.
A Nigerian woman has publicly rejected her brother’s UTME result, which showed an aggregate score of 169, deeming it inconsistent with his history of academic success.
In a post shared on X, the woman, identified as Timmieexx, expressed disbelief that her brother, Babatunde Peace Ifeoluwa, could score so low. She emphasized that her brother has consistently excelled academically and argued that such a score didn’t reflect his abilities.
Ifeoluwa, who took Use of English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in the 2024 UTME, scored 39 in English, 45 in Mathematics, 41 in Physics, and 44 in Chemistry, totaling 169. However, his family found this result troubling, especially when compared to his previous academic achievements. Timmieexx shared a copy of his WAEC results, which showed A1s in six subjects and B grades in two others. Additionally, she pointed out that Ifeoluwa scored 278 in the 2024 JAMB, with 63 in English, 73 in Mathematics, 74 in Physics, and 68 in Chemistry, which contrasted sharply with his UTME result.
Timmieexx implored JAMB to review the outcome, stating that her brother’s dedication to his studies deserved a fairer assessment.
“This is someone with a consistent record of academic excellence. We can’t accept this result. Too much effort and sleepless nights went into preparation,” she wrote. She also emphasized that intelligence runs in their family and that they are not unfamiliar with hard work and academic achievement.
Her call for a review adds to the growing concerns about discrepancies in UTME results, with many questioning the fairness and transparency of the examination process.
