Three Al-Istiqama Lecturers Ranked Among the World’s Most Cited Scientists

Three lecturers from Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, have been listed among the world’s most cited scientists, according to the 2025 edition of the AD Scientific Index of World Scientists and University Rankings.
The lecturers—Mr. Sadanu Hamza Kabiru of the Department of Accounting, Mr. Muhammad Aminu Auta of the Department of Biology, and Mr. Najibullah Abdallah Nuhu of the Department of Political Science—were included in the ranking based on their academic citations.
Mr. Kabiru ranks first among researchers at the university, Mr. Auta is second, while Mr. Nuhu holds the third position.
In a statement signed by the Academic Secretary, Hassan Abdurrahman, the university said, “This prestigious global acknowledgment highlights the University’s dedication to academic excellence, impactful research, and innovative scholarship.”
Reacting to the news, the founder of Al-Istiqama University, Senator Suleiman AbdulRahman Kawu Sumaila, PhD, congratulated the lecturers and the university community. He also announced a research grant for each of the listed scholars.
The university reiterated its mission, stating, “Encouraging global study, experiential learning and research, interdisciplinary scholarship, creativity, and entrepreneurial endeavors with the ultimate fear of Allah.”
