JAMB Fires Back at Candidate’s Tweet Over UTME Score Threat

- The JAMB has sparked controversy due to its response to a candidate who misspoken the term ‘punish.’
- The 2025 UTME examination saw 1.5 million candidates participate, as announced by the organization.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stirred reactions online following its response to a social media post from a 2025 UTME candidate who issued a bold threat over his expected results.
JAMB recently revealed that over 1.5 million candidates took part in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). However, one of the candidates, identified as Expensive on X (formerly Twitter), expressed frustration, demanding a high score and invoking divine retribution if he didn’t meet the mark.
He wrote:
“If my score no pass 200, God go punish una 💯.”
In response, JAMB’s official handle replied:
“Mind your launguage.”
While the response was likely intended to caution against rude remarks, many netizens were quick to point out the board’s ironic spelling error in the word “language.” The moment quickly went viral, with users mocking the exchange and questioning the professionalism of the reply.
The exchange has since sparked debate online, with some defending the candidate’s frustration and others calling for more respectful engagement on both sides.
