FUDMA Appoints Prof. Aminu Ado as Interim Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Aminu Ado has been elected as the Acting Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State.
Until his appointment at the 130th Special Senate Meeting on Monday, Prof. Ado was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Monday in Katsina by Nasir Abdul, FUDMA’s Director of Information and Protocol.
According to him, Prof. Ado was the sole nominee for the position. However, his nomination was subjected to a vote, where he secured 92 votes in favor and two against.
He added that Prof. Ado would take over from the current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu-Bichi, whose tenure ends on Monday.
Mr. Abdul stated that Prof. Hamisu-Bichi explained during the meeting that the special senate session was convened to elect an Acting Vice-Chancellor, pending the appointment of a substantive one.
Prof. Hamisu-Bichi noted that, with the end of his tenure, it was necessary to have an acting vice-chancellor in order to avoid a leadership vacuum.
He emphasized the importance of full participation by all Senate members in the selection process.
Prof. Ado, who hails from Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, was born on June 13, 1972, in Kankia LGA.
