Governor Yusuf Honors Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh, Nine Others with Meritorious Award

In celebration of the 2025 International Workers’ Day, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, on Thursday honored Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh and nine other distinguished civil servants with Meritorious Awards.
The 2025 May Day Award Dinner, held at the Open Theatre of Government House, Kano, was organized to recognize and celebrate the most dedicated public servants for their unwavering commitment to governance and administrative excellence in Kano State.
The event was jointly organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kano State Councils, in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Kano.
Presenting the awards, Governor Yusuf commended the recipients for their exceptional dedication, integrity, and sense of duty, highlighting their willingness to serve the public without bias or self-interest.
Accompanied by the Honorable Commissioner, Kano State Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh received his award in recognition of his outstanding service as Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano.
Born on May 5th, 1982, in Kunya town, Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano State, Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh is the son of Alhaji Lado Saleh. He earned his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Building Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in 2010, and has since completed numerous courses in Procurement Management.
He joined the Kano State Civil Service in 2013 as a Building Officer II on Grade Level 08. Over the years, his dedication to excellence in the procurement sector has distinguished him within the Nigerian building and procurement community.
An accomplished researcher, Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh has presented over 15 papers at national conferences and workshops. He also serves as the System Administrator of the Electronic Procurement Portal—an initiative that standardizes procurement processes within the ministry.
Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh is the Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Building and Board Member of the Kano State Ultra-modern Hospital (KUSH)
Other recipients of the 2025 Meritorious Award include two Permanent Secretaries: Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota of the Secretary to the State Government’s Office and Abdul Sa’ad Zakirai of the Protocol Office.

The ceremony underscored the state government’s commitment to recognizing and encouraging excellence in the civil service.
