Kano APC Youths: Tinubu Needs No Kwankwaso, We’ll Deliver 2 Million Votes in 2027

The All Progressives Congress Youth and Students Council (KASASCO) has confidently projected that the APC will secure over two million votes for President Bola Tinubu and all its candidates in Kano during the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The Director-General of KASASCO, Comrade Yahaya Usman-Kabo, made this disclosure while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Kano.
He stated that the Council believes that, with the current wave of high-profile defections from the NNPP to the APC, President Tinubu is well positioned to garner over two million votes in Kano in 2027.
“The APC has no need for the return of former Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso to the party. His return would bring no benefit, either directly or indirectly, given his clear political decline,” he said.
“Under the current leadership of Abdullahi Abbas, the APC in Kano State enjoys a strong position, with two sitting senators, members in the House of Representatives, and the State House of Assembly,” he added.
He noted that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano is experiencing massive defections from its key members, adding that the majority of the individuals who helped bring the party to power in the 2023 general elections have now abandoned it for the ruling APC.
“Among the defectors are the current serving senator representing Kano South, Sen. Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila; Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency; and Abdullahi Sani Rogo, member representing Rogo and Karaye Federal Constituency.
“Others include Zubairu Hamza Massu, member of the State House of Assembly representing Sumaila Constituency; Muhammad Diggol, former commissioner; Abbas Sani Abbas; Baffa Bichi (former SSG, Kano NNPP),” he said.
He added that they all left the party due to perceived unfair and imbalanced treatment, despite their significant contributions.
Usman-Kabo emphasised that the APC has successfully resolved all its past internal conflicts and is now fully focused on the challenges ahead.
He stated that the NNPP is on the brink of collapse in Kano, as evidenced by the ongoing wave of defections.
He commended the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, for his tireless efforts and leadership in ensuring the party’s success at both the national and grassroots levels.
He also praised Senator Barau Jibrin for his effective political strategy, which, according to him, has resulted in 80 per cent of the Kwankwasiyya movement being absorbed into the APC.
“We also acknowledge the efforts of Engr. Abubakar Kabir-Bichi, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf-Gawuna, Murtala Sule-Garo, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, A. A. Zaura, Rabi’u Suleiman Bichi, and other party leaders who continue to contribute to the APC’s growing strength,” Usman-Kabo added.
