APC Welcomes Delta Governor, Pledges Support, Cooperation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally welcomed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State into its fold, assuring him of full support and cooperation as he begins a new chapter in the party.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, expressed delight over Oborevwori’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as a significant milestone for the APC in Delta State.
Morka noted that Governor Oborevwori was joined by key political figures from the PDP, including the state’s immediate past governor and 2023 PDP vice-presidential candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, alongside top state officials, lawmakers, local government chairmen, and councillors.
“Our great party welcomes this important development and assures the governor and all incoming leaders and members from the Delta PDP of our fullest cooperation and accommodation within the APC family,” Morka stated.
He added that the latest wave of defections, including members of the Delta Unity Group in Ika Federal Constituency, signals a shift in the state’s political landscape.
“Delta is now an APC state and stands ready to contribute to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the benefit of the people of Delta and all Nigerians,” he said.
