Rano Constituents Honor Kano Lawmaker Ibrahim Malami for Outstanding Performance

Youths, students, and political figures in Rano Local Government Area of Kano State gathered over the weekend to recognize Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Malami, the member representing Rano Constituency at the Kano State House of Assembly, for his performance in 2024.
Malami, who has sponsored 18 bills this year, received certificates of recognition from several local bodies, including the Rano Local Government Students’ Association (RALOGSA), the Rano chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the area.
“This is more than an award—it’s a statement. Young people are paying attention, and when our leaders work, we acknowledge it. Malami has taken our issues to the Assembly, and we’ve seen the results,” said Comrade Adamu Muhammad, Chairman of the NYCN in Rano.
The Chairman of Rano Local Government, Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano, also commended the lawmaker, saying, “He’s one of the few legislators whose actions speak louder than their campaigns. Others in public office should take note—constituents remember what you do, not what you say.”
In his remarks, Hon. Malami said, “This award belongs to the people of Rano. I’m only doing what I was elected to do—speak for our people and push for policies that matter. Lawmaking isn’t about holding a title; it’s about solving problems.”
He added, “If we’re serious about governance, we have to bring the voices of our communities into the heart of the legislative process. That’s what guides my work.”
Among those present at the event were Sheikh Kabiru Sani, the Wazirin Rano; Professor Sani Dahiru, a former Sole Administrator of Rano LGA; and the Chief Imam of Rano, Sheikh Nasiru Imam Hassan.
