Ado Doguwa Honours Kano Journalist with Royal Title

A Kano-based journalist, Ibrahim Yaro Dawakin Tofa, has been conferred with the traditional title of Santurakin Sardaunan Hausa by Honourable Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the newly installed Sardaunan Kasar Hausa Mai Tuta.

The ceremony took place in Daura following Doguwa’s turbaning by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Faruk Umar.

Yaro studied Mass Communication at Bayero University, Kano, and holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations. He has worked with Media Trust and is currently with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

In his remarks, Doguwa said, “This title is not given lightly. It is reserved for someone who has demonstrated loyalty, respect, and commitment to our shared values. Ibrahim Yaro is not just a journalist; he is a symbol of trust and responsibility.”

He added, “Ibrahim Yaro has stood by us with dedication. As Santurakin Sardaunan Hausa Mai Tuta, he will be a voice for unity, culture, and progress.”

In his response, Yaro said, “This title is a call to greater service. I accept it with humility and a deep sense of duty. I will do my best to support Honourable Doguwa’s vision and to represent the values of the Hausa people wherever I go.”
