Bauchi confident of victory as sports festival holds April 22

The Bauchi State Government has insisted that it would emerge victorious in the forthcoming year 2025, 22nd National Sports Festival to be held in Ogun State.
The State Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau, gave the assurance on Saturday while disclosing that Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the participation of the state during the event.
While receiving athletes, coaches and officials from the National Sports Commission who were on a solidarity visit at the Government House, Bauchi, Jatau appreciated the governor for the approval, noting that, preparations towards that effect were on going to ensure the state’s athletes participated fully and excelled in the festival.
He recalled that Bauchi State’s participation in the National Sports Festival since its inception in 1976 had consistently showcased talents in athletics, boxing, football and other key sports disciplines and secured a number of medals for the state.
According to him, “I am delighted to receive the Torch of Unity for the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged ‘Gateway Games 2025,” which is traditionally the symbol of unity, peace, friendship and tolerance among Nigerians.”
Thus, he commended the NSC and the festival committee for creating a platform that fosters youth development, talent discovery, and national integration.
On her part, an official of the event, Mbora Ikana, hailed Mohammed for his administration’s investment in sporting activities.
She promised that the Commission would continue to support Bauchi to excel in sporting events.
