The footage shows pedestrians walking along a main road just moments before the truck appeared at high speed and struck them, causing multiple victims to be thrown across the street.

Among those affected was Maria Eduarda Silva, who lost her life in the collision. She was the mother of one of the injured children. Her sister, Maria Aparecida Silva, remains in critical condition at the hospital. Three additional victims are currently receiving medical care and are reported to be in stable condition.

The driver, identified as Maria do Perpétuo Socorro Cardoso Weiler, reportedly refused to undergo a breathalyzer test but exhibited signs of intoxication. She was arrested at the scene and is expected to provide a police statement on Monday, the 19th.
